Aug 26(LTIT) –The crude steel output by world countries reporting to the World Steel Association (worldsteel) registered significant decline during the month of July 2020. The monthly production statistics suggests that output by 64 countries has dropped by nearly 2.5% over the previous year. The world crude steel production totalled 152.694 million tonnes (Mt) in July this year, as compared with the output of 156.679 Mt a year before. China, India and Japan continued to be the world’s largest steel producers. Out of the leading steel producers, only China recorded higher steel output over the previous year. Among regions, all except Asia, Oceania and Other Europe posted reduced output. |
