Destocking of aluminum ingots slows down in China
2020-10-27

Oct 27(LTIT) – On October 26, the national social inventory of aluminum ingots was 701,000 tons, which was unchanged from last week. The social inventory of 6063 aluminum rods reported 95,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 15,000 tons.

The start of aluminum profile enterprises rose slightly from last week. As the weather turned cooler, orders for aluminum profile companies in the central region improved slightly, demand for construction aluminum materials was picking up, and transportation orders were better than expected, but some profile companies reported that the peak season for orders was not good.

In September 2020, China's bauxite imports amounted to 8,365,800 tons, 23.95% year-on-year and 18.99% month-on-month decrease. The month-on-month decrease was mainly due to the impact of the rainy season in Guinea, which led to a significant reduction in Guinea shipments.

Follow-up attention: peak season consumption level, aluminum production capacity in the fourth quarter, autumn and winter production restriction policies, and whether the epidemic will break out again.
